Dave Hale

Dave is the powerhouse behind the scenes at CODS – quite literally. As our Vice Chair, Stage Manager, and all-round technical guru, Dave brings an unbeatable mix of organisation, calm under pressure, and expert know-how to every production. From intricate stage plans to backstage logistics, if it happens in the wings or behind the curtain, chances are Dave has had a hand in it.

His technical leadership is especially vital for our mainstage productions at the Everyman Theatre, where Dave works tirelessly to ensure everything runs smoothly – often surviving on little more than latte coffees, gaffer tape and sheer determination.

A long-standing member of CODS, Dave has helped modernise our tech capabilities while keeping the spirit of community theatre at the heart of everything he does.

Fun facts about Dave:

• Once accidentally set the wrong scene during a scene change for CODS production of Sister Act (and styled it out brilliantly).

• Owns many different types of screwdrivers and can tell you when to use each one.

• Has a soft spot for tap numbers, despite claiming he “doesn’t dance.”
