Allan Gillespie … aka Gillie to those who know him and … er … to those that don’t. Gillie wears two very important hats at CODS, one covered in receipts and the other in sheet music! As our Treasurer, he keeps a close eye on the society’s finances, making sure everything is as financially sound as it is fabulous. From balancing budgets to calmly navigating the occasional last-minute expense, Gillie handles it all with clarity, care, and a cracking calculator.

But Gillie’s talents don’t stop there. He’s also the Musical Director for our upcoming production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, where he will be leading the cast and band with his trademark energy, patience, and musical sparkle. Whether he’s guiding harmonies in rehearsal or getting the best out of the pit band, Gillie brings heart and humour to everything he does.

Fun facts about Gillie:

  • Can spot a missing semiquaver or decimal point from ten paces.

  • Has been known to conduct with one hand while completing a Sudoku with the other.

  • Has a soft spot for key changes, crisp balance sheets, and a well-timed glockenspiel ker-ching.

  • Highlights include successfully balancing the books and a plate of sandwiches at CODS 2020 virtual AGM. A true multitasking legend, now in his 46th year of being a member of CODS.
