‘Spamalot’ – 2018

  • 12th to 16th June 2018

Rude Frenchmen, can-can dancers, the Lady of the Lake and her Laker girls, killer rabbits, catapulting cows and the somewhat odd Knights who say ‘Ni!’ are just part of the adventures and dangers awaiting King Arthur and his trusty (sorry) rusty Knights of the very, very, very round table in their quest for the Holy Grail!

Spamalot charts King Arthur’s quest, firstly to gather his Knights of the very, very, very, very Round table, then to find the Holy Grail. Arthur and his band of brave, cowardly, confused, flatulent and fragrant (it is the 10th century after all) knights have to dodge over-enthusiastic Finnish singers, the plague, the appalling French and their flying cows. Along the way they must find a shrubbery, do battle with a homicidal Knight who has no idea when he’s beaten and a psychotic rabbit. Oh and do quite a lot of singing – the most ridiculous lyrics you’ve ever heard. All in the best possible taste!

Lovingly ripped off from the classic 1975 film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is the fun-filled irreverent parody of the Arthurian legend that has had audiences roaring in the aisles around the world.  A smash hit on Broadway and the West End, it was nominated for a staggering 14 Tony Awards on its’ debut, winning Best Musical and was seen by an astonishing 2 million people during its original run.

Join us on an adventure of a lifetime, (no sorry lunchtime). CODS is proud to bring you one of the most hilarious and silliest pieces of theatre you’re ever likely to encounter.
